Anugraha Social Service Society is the official humanitarian endeavors organ of the Catholic diocese of Pathanamthitta. This Society is registered under the Travencore –Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Act XI of 1955.Its registration number is P/73/2010.This entity was founded on 2010 to extend a helping hand for uplifting the marginalized segments of the Society. Accordingly, the beneficiaries of the charitable initiatives of the Society include: the tribes, dalits,migrants,small and marginal farmers, the physically and mentally challenged, the unemployed youth and the woman.
The various benevolent activities of the society include: community health development programmes, rehabilitation of the mentally and physically challenged, skill training for the languishing unemployed youth, besides woman empowerment programmes and a host of other activities.
To facilitate the smooth implementation of the various projects and programmes we have a central office functioning under the diocese at Omalloor, Pathanamthitta.It is adequately staffed with professionally qualified social workers, administrative staff and field staff.
In order to inculcate thrift and savings among the marginalized especially those residing in the villages and tribal hamlets the society is fostering self – help groups. Accordingly, we have constituted as many as 630 self – Help Groups in our villages.
The undertake micro income generation activities in their respective Villages. This include: mushroom cultivation, honey production, tailoring and dress making units etc. They also boost goat rearing, promotion of organic farming and initiating self-employment awareness for the unemployed.
The mission of the society is to serve the poor, marginalized, unorganized sections of society

Prayerful Greetings from the Diocese of Pathanamthitta.
I am pleased to know that Anugraha Social Service Society is publishing its Annual Report of the year 2023-24 for the information all. I am sure that this report will give a vivid picture of its interventions during the year.
The Church believes that creation is a gift given equally to all humanity to be shared in such as a way that every person must have the necessary resources to live which reflects his dignity- this includes not just material basics but also opportunities to fulfil ones potential. As a social apostolate of the Diocese of Pathanamthitta, Anugraha Social Service Society has been active in its operational area with various development interventions to ensure a level laying ground for the poor and oppressed. The thrust the organization has given in identifying issues/problems hindering the rightful development of the marginalized and to develop programmes with their active involvement in materialising these issues is really appreciable.
Specific programmes implemented by the organization for the PLHIV persons, honey processing unit and campaign against drug abuse and cancer prevention have brought out laurels for the organization and greater visibility among the public. Anugraha Social Service Society has been able to network with like-minded organizations focussed on making its intervention more relevant to its target groups of people. I really appreciate the Director and staff of the organization for showing great commitment in working with the rural communities and developing specific programmes to respond the issues which are affecting their life.

Greetings and best wishes from Anugraha Social Service Society!
Another fruitful year has been faded away and Anugraha Social Service Society has been able to accomplish many things during this period. I am very happy to publish the annual report of its activities during the year 2023-24 for the consideration of all. I am sure this report will give you a detailed account of our interventions, achievements and collaborative actions in the development arena.
The gap in the economic disparity between the high and the low-income groups is growing further. The wide gap in economic inequality puts lower-income groups at risks and it will be difficult for them to escape from poverty. This demands preferential programmes for the improvement of the weaker sections of the society. This demands collective actions by different stake-holders. Capacities of the poor should be enhanced through diverse trainings, skill up gradation programmes, employment generation and financial support. Majority of our interventions are aimed to enhance the capabilities of the poor and to ensure them a steady source of income. We also were able to intervene in a big way to address HIV/AIDS through our Targeted Intervention project. Campaign against drug abuse and cancer has found effective in sensitising the general public and ensuring their cooperation in addressing these wider issues. Further, Anugraha has gained considerable insight in working with different stake-holders and was successful in establishing networks with diverse organizations.
We remember and recall the support we have received from different quarters to make our interventions more meaningful. Most Rev.Dr.Samuel Mar Irenios, the bishop of Pathanamthitta has provided us effective guidance and leadership; we thank him for his able leadership. Fr.Varghese KalayilVadakethil, Vicar General, Diocese of Pathanamthitta has been very supportive to us as president of the organization and always motivated us to develop programmes and projects addressing the real need of the vulnerable families in our area. Priest and religious sisters working in the Diocese have shown keen interest in the activities of the organization and supported us in carrying out different programmes at the field level. Government departments, funding agencies both National and International were very supportive to Anugraha and they supported us with much needful financial inputs. The commitment shown by the staff of the organization needs special mention here.
Let us continue our relentless effort in empowering the poor and oppressed in our area.
